Brussels Studies Institute (BSI)

The Brussels Studies Institute (BSI) is a structure resulting from a collaboration agreement between three Brussels universities: ULB, VUB and Université Saint-Louis-Bruxelles.

The BSI acts as a contact and coordination platform for university research in Brussels, with a particular focus on human science.

However, the BSI's mission is not limited to the three founding universities' research centres. Its objective is to gradually create an inter-university and inter-disciplinary network which offers services for researchers working in Brussels and serves as an interface with the stakeholders of Brussels society. The BSI intends to provide an additional step on the path to the intensification and coordination of research in Brussels.

The BSI's mission is also to contribute to sharing Brussels knowledge as much with public authorities as with civil society and all interested citizens.

Thanks to a collaboration with the electronic scientific review "Brussels Studies", major work on the dissemination of research on questions of interest to Brussels is implemented without discrimination with regard to discipline or language.

Further information about the missions of the Brussels Studies Institute may be obtained on their website.
