Call for projects to raise awareness about science among young people - 2015 theme: the ground
The call for projects aims to financially support micro-projects that raise awareness among young people in Brussels, whether they are of French, Dutch or German-speaking heritage, about science and technology and study programmes that lead to job prospects in these fields.
Eligibility of promoters
Any non-profit structure or entity with a legal status or not, based in Belgium is eligible. The association of two or more of these eligible stakeholders is encouraged.
Financing will be allocated as a priority to stakeholders based in the Brussels Region which do not benefit from a subsidy from Innoviris in the frame of science early-learning.
Eligibility of projects
The projects should target solely French, Dutch or German-speaking children and young people in Brussels between the ages of 5 and 18 years.
The objective of the projects should, as a priority, be to raise awareness about science and technology through an activity suited to the target public.
The programme exclusively finances original initiatives and actions in raising the awareness of young people about science and technologies and not the project leader's regular and recurrent activity.
The project presented should be a local or regional initiative; the public targeted must be identified precisely.
The project's methodology, the educational approach to be used to achieve the goal and the expected impact of the project should be presented clearly. Projects concerning the simple acquisition of equipment, the dissemination of information, simple service offerings or simple twinnings are not eligible.
The project should be organised between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016.
After the project, the promoter undertakes to provide an illustrated and explanatory sheet (A4 - electronic format) for it, which will be published on the Brussels Region and Innoviris websites.
Applications should be submitted to Innoviris, for the attention of Mr Sébastien Rush between 29 May and 12 June 2015 at the very latest, date as confirmed by postmark, at the address: Innoviris, Chaussée de Charleroi 110 – 1060 Brussels.
An acknowledgement of receipt will be issued.
The promoter is required to complete an application form presenting the key points of his project's submission.
Incomplete applications, or applications received after the deadline will not be examined.
Compliance with the eligibility criteria.
The relevance of the project in relation to the objectives and themes defined in this call for projects, the practicability and the coherence of the planned action.
The evaluation of the impact on the public targeted in terms of awareness and cost/person ratio.
The project selection process will take account of specific efforts made by the promoters to encourage equal opportunities and awareness raising among the underprivileged.
All other things being equal, preference will be given to projects focused on the theme "The ground". Consideration of the environmental dimension will be an asset.
A jury will draw up a classification of eligible projects according to the criteria presented above.
Financing of projects
The financial intervention may not, in principle, exceed €5,000 per project. This sum represents a maximum limit and does not in any way reflect the sum that will actually be allocated to the project if it is selected.
The promoter will have to prove that it has additional resources enabling the project's implementation.
