In November 2012, the updated Regional Plan for Innovation was presented to the general public. It provides a vision of the future of RDI in the Brussels Region and to that end, it proposes a series of concrete short-term (2013-2014) actions, as well as several suggestions for future improvements (to be studied in greater detail for 2014-2020).
This "Update of the Regional Plan for Innovation" was accompanied by a RDI scoreboard. The scoreboard is a tool for monitoring scientific policy. It helps to guide political decisions towards the most important areas taking account of the specific characteristics of Brussels.
The scoreboard is inspired mainly by the European Innovation Scoreboard and the communication "Innovation Union" (Europe 2020). It comprises 33 indicators broken down into six dimensions (inputs, companies, collaborations, participation in European programmes, outputs and an economic dimension). The indicators presented in this scoreboard are collected periodically in such a way as to ensure the proper monitoring of policies and the situation.
